Blessed For Life

As an avid reader of the holy scriptures, i have always wondered why God confers blessing on those He chooses. Those who miss out on the blessing cry out for it, like Esau, cried out to his father Isaac
Genesis27vs34,  ''He cried with an exceedingly great and bitter cry and said to his father ,'bless me also o my father'.  Esau was not so concerned about the birthright he had lost to Jacob, but when he lost the blessing he not could forget or forgive his brother.

A life without the blessing from God, is a life full of frustration, struggles with no hope in sight, pain, sorrow and evil becomes your companions for life. As one man experienced and also cried out to God.  Jabez scriptures says was more honorable than his brethren from the tribe of Judah, because he cried out to God in prayer and said  'Oh that You will bless me indeed' -----1chronicles4vs9.  From Jabez also we learn that a life devoid of God's blessing is also a life of limitation,stagnation and backwardness.  Jacob stole the blessing, but never really experienced the power of the blessing until, he too wrestled with God for the blessing to be conferred on him.  Jacob's life before the conferment  of the blessing was one of failures, struggles, crises, lack of peace within and without.   After 20 years of living without the power of the blessing Jacob had had it, and he was not going to go another day without the blessing.

Beloved this should be our mind set this year, that i will not live one more day without the blessing, and like Jacob cry out ''I will not leave you until you bless me''------Genesis32vs27. I do not know about you but i see myself in Jacob, Jabez, and all the saints of God past and present that have cried out to God for the blessing.  Life without the blessing is barren, unproductive,you labor so much and bring forth little or nothing. you are forever stranded, stagnated, passed over, always misunderstood. so what is this blessing and why do we need it so desperately?.

The blessing of God that makes rich and added no no sorrow according to the holy scriptures, is not necessarily talking about physical and material blessings, it includes it but it is not limited to it, and it's  not the main focus. Jacob had material blessings so he was not asking for more as we tend to think in our postmodern and materialistic generation. All who cried out for the blessing were looking for something much more than 'stuff '.   According to the dictionary blessing is God's favor and protection, or something that brings total well being, and or God's support[merriam webster].

The blessing is the grace, and or ability,power of God that is conferred on a person, and it completely transforms and revolutionalizes that life. The blessing in the life so conferred then produces favor, courage, well being,productivity or fruitfulness, joy, peace, capacity to love and be loved, the list is endless. Lets take a look at some examples;
God created man in His image and likeness and He blessed them, 'Be fruitful, multiply fill the earth and subdue it, have dominion over------'.The blessing empowered them to be fruitful,and have dominion over all created things.
Abraham was just Abram a noble father, until the blessing came upon him and he became 'the father of many nations, of princes and nobles and kings.  The blessing am persuaded transformed his DNA.

Jacob was a man ruled by fear of his brother Esau amongst many other things,  but when God blessed him at Peniel he became a prince and a prevailer, he was ready to face his fear with courage and boldness. And just to let him know the transformation and change of destiny, the Sun rose upon him as it to acknowledge an overcomer, a prince who now has authority over the elements of nature.

When God blessed Jabez , it brought an end to pain and sorrow in his life, it enlarged his spare of influence and authority, he was no longer limited, it also brought an end to the reign of evil in his life and family, it honor to him.

Jesus famous sermon on the mount or the beatitudes main focus was also to confer this blessing on all who will heed the commands of the sermons, so they all began with 'blessed are the-----'.  These verses shows us the life style, character, and perception of the blessed is revolutionary, counter cultural, and out of this world. According to Jabez only those on whom God had put His hands upon them can live such supernatural lives. Because that's what it is in actuality, the blessed are supernatural people.

Note the blessing is singular any where it used in scriptures, therefore it is not stuff that is inferred here.
The blessing is an intensely spiritual phenomenum. In Ephesians 1vs3, '------who has blessed us with all spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ '. Like in proverbs, the blessing is singular but qualified by a plural word.  The blessing is the part of the God head that is conferred upon man, let's here the apostle Peter describe it to us in 2Peter1vs4  ''by which  have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these we may be partakers of the divine nature of God, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust''.

Many of us as believers know we have the blessing, but like Jacob it has not become our experience, we know it in our heads. This year i want to challenge you to seek, persist, persevere and never let God go until He confers on you the blessing. I dare you to go to your own Peniel encouter. What ever you need to do, do it so we can all truly begin to live the supernatural lives we have been called to live on this side of eternity. See at Peniel.
