When Dreams Die Hard

This year is coming to an end in a few days, and for many of us this year has been really hard in every way, the thought of looking forward to a new year is frightening at best and  the prospect looks bleak.  But there are many many others who inspite of the hardness and difficulties of this year still look forward to a new year with hope that it will be better. This is where i desire all of us to be in 2013, With  hope in the God of the universe who has kept us alive that He will crown the new year with His goodness and abundance, without this hope you will give up and God does not want us to give up.

Am not just an optimist, am a firm believer in an infinitely good God who saves to the uttermost, restores and renews and revives. The reason for this hope of mine for you and me is that God has invested too much in us to abandon us, He is watching over His investment to yield a great return. For the omniscient God has put something in us that will not die no matter what we go through in this life. We call it dream, but heaven calls it the will and purposes of God.  No wonder King Solomon the wisest man that ever lived  eulogised the will of God in all his letters, proverbs, ecclesiastics and even in the songs.  In ecclesiastics3 vs 11  he said ''He has set eternity in the hearts of men, yet they can not fathom what God has done from the beginning to the end'.

Joseph the son of Jacob, saw hardship, difficulties, troubles, trials of all sorts, he was forgotten by all and left to die, yet his dream of the purpose of God for his life was kept alive, and as long as his dream was alive, Joseph came out of every trial, and every hell hole he was put in. In genesis37vs5  ''And Joseph had a dream --------we were binding sheaves of grain in the field when suddenly my sheave stood upright , while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed to it ''. In Genesis 37vs9 another dream was told, expanding the scope and territory of the dream '' the sun, moon and the eleven stars bowed down to me'. Joseph set his death sentence that day.  Every body around him not understanding the will of God for his life hated him and decided to kill him, thinking his death will mean the death of his dream.

But praise God because He has placed eternity in our hearts, my physical death does not end or terminate the purpose of God. Paul says, if they had known they would not have killed the prince of glory'. From a waterless pit , to slavery and then to the dungeon Joseph's dream took him, the dream kept him alive., until there was fulfillment when he began prime minister of Egypt.     ''Where did your dream take you this year the lion's den like Daniel or the fiery furnace like Shadrack, Mescheck and Abednego, prison like Peter, Paul and the apostles ; is yours sickness, pain, betrayal, broken hearts, loss. shame, threat of death;  Beloved welcome to the club of the dream makers.

Read Hebrews 11 and you will know you are not alone. God's dream in our hearts is eternal in nature it does not die, it can be broken, delayed, making our hearts sick , but it will speak in the fullness of time it will not be silent for ever; Martin Luther King Jr died for his dream, but his dream lives today. Our perfect example is our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, his dream took him to Gethsemane, through betrayal, shame, pain and finally to Calvary where He died crying "It is finished'. That dream lives in you and me today, do not let it die in 2013. Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might, , and your dream shall be made manifest. Hold on to your dream, do not sell it; just to have convinience or be delivered from the pain and trial.

Joseph spoke his dream from prison to the palace. There are many people and situations that seek to steal your purpose, but hold on to the sure word of God.  No matter where you are right now ; in 2013 secure God's presence and attention and it shall be well with you.   From the slavery to prison Joseph prospered because God was with him.
Psalm73vs23-24    ''Yet am always with you, you hold me by my right hand, you guide me with your counsel, and afterwards you bring me into glory''
