A case for Intimacy2

I was thinking about the post yesterday ,and as i went back and forth with the Lord on the matter,i realised we need to extend the conversation further so we can profit by it .It is not a new thing to say that our generation is in desperate need of holy men and women of God who do not need a name tag to identify them. In 2kings the story of Elisha was told as a travelling prophet all over Israel , a very prominent woman simply called the  great woman of shunem ,saw him walk pass her house every day.And said to her husband,''this is a holy man of God-----''.she identified him as such ,elisha did not introduce himself to her.

      God has called every believer to be holy in Him. ephesians1vs4 declares it 

     ''according as He has chosen us before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love'' This intention of God was echoed all through the bible,''be ye holy for  I the lord your God am holy''.when our progenitors messed up in the garden ,taking their nature we have continued to mess up.But God was not discouraged ,neither did He give up on us. In the fullness of time says paul in 1corithians1vs30 ''But of Him you are in christ Jesus,who of God is made unto us wisdom,righteousness sanctification and redemption''. Peter in his epistle says ,''we are partakers of His divine nature ,and have escaped the corruption that is in the world through lusts''..

 what wonderful and glorious promises we in christ.

    

     But we have continued to struggle to live holy lives.The result is that it has kept us from the presence of God the only place where we can become partakers of  His holiness. we can not become holy on the streets,it is not an instant coffee or microwave dinner. Those who became holy did so by being constantly ,diligently being in His presence.Their prayer room was their most favorite place to be. moses  spent 40days and nights with God twice and he returned with his face shinning.The very presence of God had robbed off on him.  moses did not need to introduce himself to anybody,like elisha he will be recognised anywhere he goes a holy man of God.

     It is no brainer that we become     whom we behold on a regular basis. The 1minute devotions will not do,even though they are well intentioned.  one of mine favorite scriptures is found in 2corithians3vs18,''but we all, with open faces beholding as in a glass the glory of God ,are changed into the  same image from glory to glory ,even as by the spirit of the Lord''.

  The more time we spend with Him ,the more of Him we become,  as it were we become one with the Lord ,in spirit ,in our thinking,,after all scriptures says we have the mind of Christ.. we become stronger in the spirit,in faith,and sin can no longer have dominion over us.

we are bolder in prayers confronting the enemy of our souls.

   The journey of holiness began at salvation  but,it is living a lifestyle of abiding in His presence,that gets there,and will then be perfected when we see Him face to face,when this body of ours is swallowed up by immortality.  Until then you and i have work to do. we must daily desire to be conformed into His image,and that desire should drive us into His presence at every available opportunity ,with diligence and discipline. we must also purpose in our hearts like Daniel not to defile ourselves with the world,and bring our flesh,our worldly desires under subjection. meaning we have to learn to say no some things because as apostle paul said not every thing is expedient and not every thing edifies even though it may be lawful.

      

I know we will be tempted to give up ,be discouraged when we fail again,but i write to encourage all of us,please do not listen to the enemy of our souls.  Lets not listen to him ,our lord  Jesus who leads us in victory says he is a lier and the father of liers.  Believe God ,He says ,you are the righteousness of God in christ jesus ,stand on that word in the face of temptations.

      'Be strong in the Lord and the power of His might, it is possible to be holy  because it is not by power nor by might says the Lord,but by my spirit'

Do not be a stranger,even today,repair the broken down alter,take out the ashes,

put fresh wood,and simply  call '''the God that answers by fire '',,and let the fire fall.amen.
